One of my list to do was to really visit the Singapores’ Night Safari but since I have nothing to do in the afternoon of my second day in Singapore (October 1, 2010) and Steph’s going with me, I decided to went to Singapore Zoo first then Safari later…also her first time in the zoo…*smile*
We arrived at the Zoo around 2pm…we get there thru MRT, we alight at Ang Mo Kio station (NS16) and board the bus service 138 from the bus interchange, it is located at 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore and it is open daily from 8:30am to 6:00pm. It cost S$18 for admission for adult while S$12 for child then we got tram ride for S$5 for unlimited ride, there’s also a boat ride that cost S$6. They have Zoo-per Saver promo and Park Hopper Special.
We meander through the Rainforest Walk to catch sight of Asian small-clawed otters, headed past Gibbon Island for a glimpse of zoo’s acrobatic apes and the Orangutan Island then we rode the tram to Tram Stop 2. Enroute, we encounter Wild Africa, home to white rhinos, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, meerkats and lions. We also saw the Tropical Crops Plantation and the Orchid Garden on-board the tram.
Alight at Tram Stop 2, we explore Fragile Forest, a walk-thru rainforest home to the free ranging lesser mousedeer, ring-tailed lemur, sloth, tree kangaroo, flying fox, birds and butterflies amidst mighty trees, delicate ferns and stunning cascades. We also went to quick ramble past the Reptile Garden for all things scaly from our giant Aldabra tortoises to the rhino iguanas to the komodo dragons.
Our next stop was to the Rainforest Kidzworld…check it on my next post!
