One of the highlight of my trip to Singapore is to finally see, visit and have fun at Sentosa Island…been in Singapore last 2008 but havn’t had that chance to see the place!
Friends and I went to Sentosa Island last October 2, we take the North-East Line and alight at the Harbour Front MRT Station, we then went to 3rd level of Vivo City shopping mall, transfer onto Sentosa Express, they provide easy access…and oh, in Sentosa Express have to pay SGD3 including the admission to the island and unlimited ride within Sentosa Express Stations—.Sentosa, Waterfront, Imbiah, and Beach! Oh, was able to ride and enter the island using my EZ-Link, I love it! Thanks Posh for introducing me to EZ-Link.
Sentosa Island, is divided into 6 different parts, Beaches, Siloso Point, Imbiah Lookout, Resorts World Sentosa, Serapong and Sentosa Cove. Anyway, we take Sentosa Express and get off at Beach Station, this is where the Siloso, Palawan, and Tanjong Beaches are located…:)
- Siloso Beach is Singapore’s hippest beach, it is home to the hottest volleyball action along with the coolest bars and restaurants, it is the beach to head to for fun-loving people—day and night. There are seven attractions in the area: MegaZip Adventure Park(megazip, climbmax, parajump), The Flying Trapeze, Wavehouse Sentosa, Azzura Beach Club, GoGreen Segway, GoGreen Cycle & Island Explorer, and the Luge & Skyride—tried it and will share to you my experience on my next post.
- If Siloso Beach is the hippiest, then Palawan Beach is the happiest family beach in Singapore with a suspension bridge linking beach-goers to the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia and also Asia’s closest point to the Equator but unfortunately we wasn’t able to go there, how I wish we did! Animal and Bird Encounter is also in this area where you can make friends with animals and birds as they show off just how smart and adorable they are. Lastly, Songs of the Sea is in this area, it is an award-winning multi-sensory extravaganza—I had fun there as well as my friends, will be sharing it on later!
- There’s one more part of the beach that is not that famous unless you have a car, hahaha, it is the Tanjong Beach, because that’s where the big car parks are located. No, actually this is the place for people who treasure its tranquility and solitude, it is romantic by night with the twinkling lights of nearby ships providing a magical backdrop…*winks* We never been to this area…
Next stop was the Siloso Point, where Fort Siloso and Underwater World Singapore and Dolphin Lagoon with Fish Reflexology were all located. Fort Siloso is a place for history-buff, it is where you can experience the history of our war years with the largest collection of World War II memorabilia, interactive exhibits and life-sized replicas at Singapore’s preserved coastal fort. I wanted to go here but K told me better to do it with him, he is a history-buff guy…sometimes I don’t knew how he knew all these information including dates, places and everything, he knew Philippine history better than me, *poor me* While the Underwater World Singapore is an incredible one-stop destination for the family—providing hours of fun, leisure and learning for all ages, be thrilled no end by unique encounters with marine animals. Yes, we didn’t go there…my friend who are living in Singapore said its like the one in Philippines which I havn’t been there also but with that I was thinking it will be also like the one in Bangkok, Thailand, which we went December of last year with Isabelle and Dolphin Lagoon, I think it will be the same with the Ocean Adventure in Subic, Philippines, which I went with CJ in one of his educational trips! With all these, havn’t been to Siloso Point at all…but someday I hope I can go there with my kiddos and K which is more great, isn’t it?!
Imbiah Lookout have it all, with its 11 attract
ions. Situated near Mount Imbiah on Sentosa, it is the latest cluster of new and exciting attractions that will appeal to all. Adventure-seeker, nature lover or history buff, there’s always something fun and exhilarating. Attractions that can be found here are as follows:
- Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom
- Images of Singapore
- Jewel Cable Car Ride
- Sentosa 4D Magix
- Sentosa CineBlast
- Sentosa Desperados
- Sentosa Nature Discovery/Nature Walk
- The Merlion/Merlion Walk
- Tiger Sky Tower
- MegaZip Adventure Park (Siloso Beach)
- Sentosa Luge and Skyride (Siloso Beach)
Next is the one I am so excited to see, its the Resorts World Sentosa, home of the Universal Studio Singapore…we went there for a day, from opening until 7pm or so and its a blast, I had fun and really enjoyed it. Will do separate post about it!
Lastly, there are two part of the island not common to everyone, its the Serapong and Sentosa Cove…this two place is more on dining, shopping and accomodation. Home of Sentosa Golf Club and Sentosa Resort and Spa.
So, there you go….these are the places around Sentosa Island, maybe I missed some but this are just based from the internet search I made before going and while writing this, hand-outs I get along the way and bit of experience. *smile* I would love to come back again and explore more…its a beautiful place and it will be perfect once more if my kids and K are with me, it will be sweeter! *winks*
P.S. its K’s mum birthday, Happy Birthday Mum…we will give her a call later, she’s living in Perth, Australia!
