Yesterday, February 24, 2010…I met an accident, my first and last (God willing) for 28 years of my existence in this world, this is something that I don’t expect because I simply don’t like it to happen but unfortunately there are somethings that we don’t know what will happen even if we are trying to be responsible in our own way! *sigh* Now, I am asking myself, am I being careful or not?!

Phnom Penh has no in-city bus system, no jeepney, no trains but there is always transportation available such as motodup, tuktuk and cyclos. Easy to get around town, by less than 30 minutes you can travel the whole city but traffic here is getting more congested day by day.

So, I am always taking Motorcycle Taxi or simply MOTODUP because it is the most common and fastest form of transportation here but not the safest, being more prone to accidents. It can be found virtually everywhere in town, sometimes they are annoying because driver keep asking you even if you intend to walk. We have regular motodup driver but he wasn’t around so I am obliged to get someone’s available in the street without knowing it will harm me to the max…

Well, I don’t like to be in details here what happened but I simply fell down in a motorcycle while its running, few seconds after i rode as a back ride passenger, I was even dragged few steps away but thanks to my presence of mind, thanks God I am safe…just got some wounds that’s so painful…

I know these pics look terrible but worst in person!
Sorry if I still post it here…

Nobody helps me, I help myself out of the street, I get up right away, walk and go back to our home but I am crying all the way, geez, I looked like a kid…I doesn’t even said word to teh driver, doesn’t even look back. Hmm, Isabelle cried also when she saw me, her nanny don’t know what to do, got shocked maybe. I called Ate Elma first because she is waiting for me because we are going somewhere else and in few minutes she’s in front of me, wanted to bring me to the doctor…called Kent and he went out of work to go home but we’re in the hospital already…but Kent arrived just in time at the hospital! Got a kiss and hug, makes me feel better, *sweet*

At the hospital, the nurse (she’s Cambodian) and doctor (she’s Japanese) checked me, cleaned my wound and they did the dressing…its painful, I should say! I also got anti-tetanus vaccine. Check-out, got instructions and got a medicines—Mefenamic Acid 500mg and Cloxacillin 500 mg, both 3x a day…then back home!

-my bestfriend for now-

Now, I am in pain, big time…swelling, numbness—can’t explain it! don’t know what to feel! *crazy* Mefenamin and Cloxacillin seems not working…huhuhu! I now, sooner it will be healed, have scar left but I have learned my lessons!

Thanks God that I am safe and better now, pain will be over soon…*smile* Still, its my lucky day yesterday!

Result, I won’t be riding motodup for now, still I am open with it if and only if but maybe not now, can’t afford to be in another accident and to risk my life, hey, i have two kids, wonderful partner and loving family and friends plus the fact that I am too young and just starting to enjoy life around…

I can feel your pain. Just ride a tuktuk. I think it’s safer than the motodup.
