Today, 9th of November, Cambodia’s celebrating the date when they finally achieved independence from France in 1953, they were under them for 90 long years! They are celebrating it with passion and pride, all major street around town was surrounded by their Cambodian flag and Independence Monument is in its best!
The Independence Monument (Vimean Ekareach) was inaugurated in November 9, 1962 to celebrate their independence from foreign rule. Renowned Cambodian architect Vann Molyvann was the architect of the monument. Also serves as a monument to Cambodian’s war dead.
Also today, CJ has no school, well, since yesterday because school have that so-called Teacher Professional Development Training. I am happy he is around, good help around and he grown big, he doesn’t want to go and play that much but he is bit busy playing on my laptop, also he is busy with his research about painting and he finished it, I’m a proud Mama…I helped him with it in layout and we printed it in internet cafe then went to bookstore to bought some painting stuff like brush, oil pastel, water color, etc. that he needs to bring in school tomorrow—he is a happy boy with what we got. Oh, they are now displaying the christmas decors, will be back tomorrow to buy some, yipee, I am excited! After, we met Daddy at Flavours to have some drinks but the night went longer, Andy a dear friend came (we havn’t seen him for ages), Paul and Maly came too and Doug…cast was almost complete, serendipity works well again and I am so happy to see them all.
Great day and night…I am so looking forward to meet friends again. Thursday, I am excited my Peluka Sisters will be in our house for some wordpress class, hehehe, baking and I will be hosting a lunch…can’t wait! Tomorrow will be busy day, some grocery and christmas shopping!
