Our little princess is now one year old…she woke up with that big smile and she makes all of us happy! Today, she will be celebrating her big day, we will have a fairy theme party for her! She’s now a big girl…but will always be our baby!

Life’s a game to her these days, or, actually due to a still relatively short attention span, many different games played in rapid succession.

One game that was really become particularly engaging is dropping things—she finally figured out how to let go of objects), seeing them fall, watching mommy or daddy pick them up and then repeating the sequence over and over—preferably until parental backs are aching and parental patience worn thin. Push toys is also another great favorites; as she struggles to master the most challenging large motor skill of all—walking—her wooden pushcart toys can offer the security that she needs to stand and, eventually, maybe putting one foot in front of the other.

Also, this month we noticed some signs that Isabelle—small and cute though she still is—won’t be a baby much longer. Slowly but surely we will begin to glimpse behaviors (a growing independence, the dawn of negativity, primitive temper tantrums, a my-way-or-the-highway mind-set) that foreshadow the theme of the year: I am Toddler, Hear Me Roar!

Also, the immunization is up to date…thanks to her pediatrician Dr. Aye Nuguid of Makati Medical Center for giving what’s needed! Thanks God, she never get sick that much, once or twice cough and colds but nothing major plus her immune system is strong enough because she didn’t caught my chickenpox virus when I had it when she’s 10months! Thanks Doc, for taking care of our little princess and back Phnom Penh, thanks to Dra. Marissa for giving the same! 5th and 6th teeth is now coming-out…yehey!

Isabelle’s a real cutie…and I am sure that the next days, weeks, months and year will be very exciting! *smile*
