CJ arrived here in Phnom Penh during the last term of current school year so, we didn’t enroll him yet but instead we looked for something that will keep him busy even for few hours or so…and we found that GlobalArt Phnom Penh is offering a Summer Program for kids.
GlobalArt has a proven method to teach children art and enhance their creativity. CJ’s been good with coloring already so we thought that learning art would be good for him since he likes it. According to GlobalArt, children need a variety of experience to assist them in exploring their environment, ther also learn to value their own uniqueness and to appreciate the individuality of others.
So, last June 8, 2010 I enrolled him to GlobalArt together with my friend’s son EJ…they go together and CJ’s happy about that…its his first time to be in different environment but somehow having another Filipino kid in the room makes a change! Thanks EJ…*smile*
They have classes for all ages and in 3 different level such as foundation, basic and intermediate. CJ was in the foundation level but as part of the summer classes that have 10 sessions: he basically did cut and paste, using color pencil and oil pastel, did some fabric coloring and wood painting, designed frames, learn some basic color knowledge and drawing through dotted lines with some illustrations!
So, here he is during the second to the last days of his class in art school…which he really loves, so might enroll him for weekend to their regular class! Well, it all depends to him if he wants! *smile*
I will be sharing some his works here soon…he was able to put design on a canvass bag; paint a small rectangular box that’s like pen holder; design a frame and the drawing being out in the frame; a cut, paste and color work; mask plus 5 more artworks…and his trial class! I can say that he did well there, the teachers did well and we all love his works. Oh, by the way, the teachers are so kind and very accommodating. If CJ love to go back and study art again, no second-thought to enroll him again at GlobalArt. And yes, they have International Network, they have in Philippines, Australia, U.S.A., Thailand, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia and a lot more…
