First and foremost, would like to congratulate all the graduates of 2011…CONGRATULATIONS! And I am joining Mommy Moments late, I was thinking to just post old graduation pictures of CJ but just thought of sharing the current achievement so, I waited after we all done with the meeting with the teachers…

Last Tuesday, we had meeting with the English Afternoon Teacher and she said a lot…she feel so happy to have CJ as her student, she was so pleased with CJ’s day-to-day performance, CJ’s reading was right at his level and sometimes helping his classmate with reading and understand it, good with spelling and he is also helping classmates with their computer subject—they are making their own website and he is good with it already, they are using Weebly! I’ve seen his site but I don’t know Weebly yet…will asks him more about it! And most of all, he is behaving well in school…which I am so really pleased to know! He got some friends and I am happy to know it! Anyway, here’s a part of what Teacher Karen assessment…

Then last Thursday, we had it with Teacher Emma, his Grade 2 adviser/teacher and again, she was so pleased to have Carlos as one of her student. Here’s what she said…

Carlos has excelled in a wide range of areas this term. He presents himself as motivated, hard-working and dedicated student. He is acquiring leadership skills and is encouraged to solve problems with his peers in calm manner. He is continuing to read at an advanced level and should apply expression when he is reading out loud. Carlos writing sentences independently and he should aim to apply proof reading strategies, with less prompting. In Mathematics, Carlos has been able to link concepts with real-world situations. He needs to continue practice multiplication tables. In our studies of farms and farms animals, Carlos created an independent project on sheepdogs, demonstrating an excellent understanding of the topic. In art, Carlos enjoyed the three-dimensional nature of making a miniature farm. Carlos enjoys being a member of a team in sporting activities and applies strategy and maturity to his decision. -Teacher Emma

Oh, that two absent, the first one is school’s fault, forgot to update the calendar that they first gave, since I am following it…although they gave a new one, but never marked it as a new, the principal actually told me that its their fault but I still feel bad about it. Then the other one was when he is sick and still went to school but around 10am they called me and wanted me to pick him up and bring home so I did, he didn’t finish the whole morning class…and the result, he has no certificate for complete attendance for second term and he is telling it to me just before going to bed, just gave him hug, he is ok to it, I explained to him already. But last term he has…

Anyway, just wanted to share this with all of you and I am happy with his achievement, specially with his improvement with speaking English, he’s been here for 11 months now and doing great, better than me, hahaha! His Khmer (Cambodian) language is doing good also…again, better than me!

Well, my little girl Isabelle’s having her own achievement too, she started counting at 20 months, then at 22 she is counting by his fingers…she can sings A-B-C but not all, like A-K then missed L-M-N then P-Z again…just this week she can say she’s two years old. She knew a lot of things alreeady, knew some characters of the movies that she’s watching, from Wiggles to Thomas, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, oh, Tangled too…and Toys Story as well as Superman! We speak English most of the time, specially if Daddy’s around but she’s learning some Filipino words too, and can say ‘hello and thank you’ in Khmer! Hmm…she will be entering her terrible two next month but look like she’s started already…she know what she wants, she cried but she’s still a sweetie, she’s growing up as one lovely little girl.

Most of all, Daddy and Mommy are both proud to have both of you…for us, you’re both great and wonderful kids, we are always here to support and guide you both! We love you and will always be!

Until next Mommy Moments…have a great Thursday, everyone!
