We are just near Benchasiri Park, let’s say 1km walk…near or far? Whatever it is, we love to come back. My kids loves to go to the park for a play or just to run around…I also enjoyed going because I am more than happy to see them happy. It is just along Sukhumvit Road and beside Emporium, very easy to find and you’ll not get lost. (Warning, this is a long post with loads of pictures.)

Benchasiri Park is a 4.64 hectares of land…landscape of the park comprises 70% of vast green space to show the beauty of clear blue sky due this area is crowded with skyscrapers, big trees around the park create shady and cool environment. 20% of the area consists of water garden.

There are also lots of sculptures around the area created by well-known artists, its concept is to be “Park of Sculptures” that reflects artists idea and philosophy.

The park is tribute to H.M. the Queen on the 5th Cycle Birthday 12 August 1992, and H. M. the Queen graciously conferred the name of this park. It is greatly appreciated for many royal duties of H. M. the Queen that undertaken for long time concerning in improving environment and the conserving of the natural resources as well as for better quality of life of her people.

having some rest…

Children Playground is one of our favorite place in the park because my kids loves it. Set of playground equipment are provided for adventure, seeking and climbing. Its popular for Thai and foreign children.

There are two playgrounds inside the park which are separately located on both sides near the entrance…these sets of pictures are from the first one and Isabelle’s favorite, its for kids up to 4 years old (but CJ’s also playing here, ssshhh!).

Kids in action…

On their way to the other side of the park to see the second playground and they are in a hurry…

Playground for bigger kids, 5 years and up…CJ’s had fun, but Isabelle enjoyed too!

There are also various sculptures that  you can find around the park, there are total of 18 pieces and here are some of it…(sorry I don’t know what’s the title of each sculptures.)

CJ wanted me and Isabelle to have picture here…

There’s a Sport Ground, it is a paved area available for exercising and outdoor sports playing such as volleyball and basketball…and they are enjoying it. Also Roller-Skating Ground and a Swimming Pool. They also have Health Plaza with fitness stations, I’ve seen this area and people are really using it.

In addition to a recreational place, it is also a Dharma in the Park, a venue for Buddhist activities. Every second Sunday of each month from 6:30-8:30, Buddhist can make merit and listen to sermon. And on weekends, they have activity called Music in the Park, for relaxation in the evening during weekend, where in people can enjoy listening to Thai and western music performances.

Lastly but not the least, The Musical Fountain Show, another attraction in the front part of the park…the show composed of jumping and musical fountain. We havn’t see this show but they say that it creates cheerful water dances, active water curtain that dances in line with rhythm of the music. We are looking forward to watch it soon…

So, we’ve been here in Bangkok for 2 weeks and we’ve been to Benchasiri Park few times already…it could be more if not with the rain, its been raining most of the two weeks we’ve been here, but still we were able to enjoyed few days of having sun…but its so hot, humid.

I will be sharing flowers that we saw around the park and the pigeons that’s flying around on my next post, this been so long already…you must be tired reading or looking at our pictures, and yes I am not a photographer, so I am not that good with my shots, please bear with me! Hehehe!

And lastly, I am linking this with Pink Fridays hosted by Mommy Rubz of Pink Thoughts…I miss the pink meme for many weeks so, I’m happy I’m joining back…

Have a great weekend, everyone!
