Today’s Holy Monday for Catholics…I was busy doing my usual routine on Mondays. Got our passport after renewing our visa thru our travel agent—Hola Travel, then a quick trip to post office and got one postcard. Few drinks at Flavours Restaurant and Score Bar with K. Tomorrow, CJ will be back to school and another dentist appointment for K. Cambodian New Year was spend quietly at home, but few trips around town!

Anyway, would like to share with you about Snow Yogurt…

I’ve been reading online about how yummy frozen yogurt is and how healthy it is…and its only last month that I’ve tried it., I am late with it already…I finally had it at Snow Yogurt in Sorya Food Court one great afternoon with CJ after picking him up from school.

Frozen yogurt (also known as frozen yoghurt or froz yog or by the tradenames FroYo and Frogurt) is a frozen dessert containing yogurt or other dairy products. It is slightly more tart than ice cream, as well as lower in fat (due to the use of milk instead of cream). It differs from ice milk (more recently termed low-fat or light ice cream), which does not include yogurt as an ingredient. Read here for more…

In this outlet, its self-service, so you have to get  frozen yogurt out of their dispenser with different flavors: original, kiwi, mango, green apple, honey dew and strawberry.

After getting the amount of froyo you like, you can now choose topping, they have wide selection of topping from fresh fruits to chocalate sprinkles…and I love it all.

Then its weighing time…I actually forgot how much we paid by I think its very reasonable.

And here’s our cup…we are not good in decorating it, hopefully next time we can do better.

At the end, I love it, the original flavor was not so tart, not so sweet, just right and had a delicious icy whipped texture, its delicious and healthy options for snacks! Although, I wanted to try fruit-only toppings because they are all fresh, I added some tiny bits of chocolates. My son’s choice of toppings was different, its mostly chocolates and mallows but he added some jackfruit because its one of his favorite.

What disappoint me was I went back to have some pictures taken at Sorya Foodcourt, foodcourt staff said to me picture taking is not allowed, well, they actually missed the part when I am taking picture of the place but they caught me when I was taking picture of my cup, makes me angry thinking that I paid for it already and can do whatever I want, right? What you think? Well, I wish Cambodian stores and staff will allow people to take pictures, because it might be a another form of advertising for them thru online or social network site…its a help for them, I guess! Anyway, Snow Yogurt staff are nice…I still went back and still enjoyed my cup of froyo in the ground floor, not just going to Sorya Foodcourt Snow Yogurt anymore, my promise, hahaha, maybe someday somehow!

Sometime in 2008, when my sister and I dined at the foodcourt of Gateway Mall (Cubao), I took pictures of the kiosk while waiting on the line, and the staff told me that taking pictures wasn’t allowed because “Mr. Araneta” said so. My guess is that, with so many investigative TV programs, they were just preventing people to have a proof in case something was wrong with the food and the customer would submit the picture in TV programs.

I do agree with you, taking pictures now is a good way for businesses to get some sort of advertising, and I am glad that here in the Philippines, store staffs are letting people take pictures. I guess with so many people owning cameras and cell phones with camera, they just couldn’t control it anymore. :)
