Hi, everyone…I am sure you are thinking that I will be sharing another pasta recipe since I’ve been sharing pasta recipe for 3 weeks now, right? Well, you’re absolutely right…I will not disappoint you, hehehe, this time I will be sharing with you a Cheesy Tuna and Tomato Pasta…another easy to do and must try, I think!
Here’s how to prepare Cheesy Tuna and Tomato Pasta:
Cook San Remo La Pasta Macaroni Cheese Favour according to stovetop or microwave directions. I used stovetop cooking. In a medium saucepan I added 1-1/4 cups of water, 1/2 cup of milk (said low fat milk but we don’t have so i just put pure milk) and about a teaspoon of butter…I let it boiled and added contents of packet. I stir it continuously whilst returning to boil and simmer for 7 minutes.
After cooking the pasta, add frozen peas to the cooked pasta and sauce in the pan and stir until cooked. Add tuna flakes (or chunks will be fine also, I just used flakes) and diced roma tomatoes and stir until hot. Sprinkle with some grated tasty cheese (I used Parmesan cheese) before serving and you’re done! Its so easy to do, right…it will be cooked in less then 10 minutes or maximum 15, its really fast and easy cooking for you to try!
Well, I served this when we had lunch with two people closed to our hearts—Charlie and Margie, who’s our good friends. I also served other foods such as the following:
My Pasta e Fagioli (White Bean and Pasta Soup) which recipe can be found here…
…which is great to be paired with vegetable salad, so I just ordered from Vego Salad Bar, its cheaper than buying all the ingredients, for a $3.75 (mixed greens, avocado, olives, roasted vegetable, egg, carrots; I got cherry tomato from our fridge since Isabelle loves it, we always have it.) + 3.00 (I added smoked salmon and feta cheese) = $6.75…that comes with their own Vego’s dressing…its fresh, delicious and healthy!
I also went to the market to get some fresh shrimps…got $6.50 per kilo which, half of it I cooked as a Stir-fried Shrimps with Oyster Sauce (my style, hehehe!), I just boiled it with Sprite then add some oyster sauce ad add some ground pepper…its delicious while I keep other half for the next day for Filipino-style Shrimp in Sour Soup (Sinigang na Hipon).
I also ordered half-kilo of Deep-fried Soft Shelled Crabs from Champs Elysees Restaurant in St. 63…soft-shell crab is a culinary term for crabs which have recently molted their old exoskeleton and are still soft usually blue crab (source: Wikipedia). Well, I thought it will be a lot already but when I got it, its not, we actually finished it all—absolutely delicious. Actually, my friends here introduced this to me and I love it so I thought of serving it to them, luckily its Margie’s favorite…lucky!
Then, we just served some BIKO (Filipino Rice Cake) which we made Sunday because we had it for afternoon snacks then, its a day before our lunch with them…and I forgot to take a picture of it, next time we cooked I will.
And here we are eating it all…its Monday but CJ was here, its school holiday so, we are complete (but I wasn’t in the picture because I am the one taking)!
Well, we finished it all except for soup and salad…I just had small servings each menu so I knew that there will be little left-over which we ate at night for dinner, just add some!
Well, its a good lunch with good people…we hope to see them again! Margie is back in Nepal while Charlie will be there for a month but will be back in Penh soon!
