This month, I met San Remo La Pasta pack here in Phnom Penh…made with durum wheat semolina, no added  MSG and cooked in 8minutes or so if you decided to make into a meal! Well, it is a delicious, creamy pasta and sauce side dish you can enjoy on its own or made up into a satisfying meal. It comes with different variations but I got Alfredo, Four Cheese, Carbonara and Macaroni Cheese Flavor, it is actually cheaper than buying separate pasta and sauce pack or making a sauce, a price of this is a price of 1 pack ready-mix sauce…it saves us buying the pasta which is good.

Anyway, for now I will be sharing with you La Pasta Alfredo that was made to be  Chicken and Asparagus Pasta.

It’s just easy to do and really saves time…cook the la pasta alfredo as directed and can be cook either stovetop or microwave. I used stovetop cooking. In a medium saucepan I added 1-1/4 cups of water, 1/2 cup of milk (said low fat milk but we don’t have so i just put pure milk) and about a teaspoon of butter…I let it boiled and added contents of packet. I stir it continuously whilst returning to boil and simmer for 7 minutes.

Then for the recipe idea, I thinly sliced enough chicken breast fillets then cooked it in oil in a pan until brown. After, I added sliced red capsicum, sliced asparagus and cooked for 3-4 minutes. I added the pasta and sauce to the pan and put some tomato slices. I stirred it and cooked for few minutes then served.

Note that you can remove the diced tomatoes here but I just decided to add it…also you can add baby spinach that you can stir in until it is wilted.

For other variations, simply boil frozen peas, drain and saute in butter. Add diced tomatoes and chopped parsley, then stir in prepared La Pasta Alfredo pack.

I think this pack is imported and distributed also in Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Philippines but it is originally from South Australia and New Zealand or visit San Remo website. I will be sharing more about recipe ideas using different pack next time…I hope you can try it, K said its delicious and a good meal…Bon appetito!
