Every time we can, we always go to nearby park to have fun. Few weekends back, we all went to Benjakiti  Park which is just walking distance from our place right now.

This beautiful park is one of the newest parks in downtown Bangkok, located on part of the former Tobacco Monopoly site on Ratchadaphisek Road, next to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. It covers an area of about 69 hectares and features a large lake surrounded by a landscaped park.

And here they are started walking…

…they are bit far already, they are walking too fast!

Finally, here they are with a smile for Mommy…

Oppsss…little one got tired already, lucky!

There are lots of sculptures around, some are donated by other countries…I think!

There are all kinds of leisure facilities such as boats and bicycles for hire, a walking and running path and children’s playground. We did not try boats nor bicycles…but yeah, we walked but I’m happy! Two playgrounds inside the park, the first one we saw wasn’t not nice anymore and teenagers are the one playing on but lucky to find another one that’s still nice and kids are the one playing…Guess what? They enjoyed in this area…

And of course, there are lots of beautiful flowers around the park!

Boating using a swan-lake boat is done at Ratchada Lake, which used to be a water reservoir for the Thailand Tobacco Monopoly before.

And lastly, some of the buildings that are just around the park…

Its a beautiful day, we thought it will rain but thanks God, its not! So, after our trip to the park, we went to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center to have some drinks!

Daddy’s Mai Tai (cocktail)

Mommy’s Mickey Mouse (mocktail) made of Coke and Ice Cream, reminds me of McDonalds McFloat…Isabelle got the cherries!

CJ and Isabelle shared with water and a lemon juice but unfortunately I cannot see the picture.

And we saw that there’s on-going Home Buyers’ Expo 2011 inside…guess what, we enjoyed looking to those house and they are all lovely!

If you think I am done, hold-on, there’s few more picture, hehehe!!! Since we are tired already, we took subway and its our first time to ride on their subway…:)

Yes, I am now done…I’m sure you get bored already reading or maybe you did not but its just lovely to share this beautiful thing with you…but yeah, thanks for your visit! And its not the end of our day yet, we went to have lunch after and we are all hungry, hehehe!

Lastly, I think the best time to visit is just before sunset but we went there before lunch, so can you imagined how hot it is…and yes, its free admission and open from 5am to 8pm daily.

Getting there: the park is five minutes walk from both MRT: Sukhumvit and MRT: Queen Sirikit and from BTS: Asok. Half way between Sukhumvit and Rama IV Roads.

    SOME CALL IT RED

“I don’t have time,” my grandfather said,
“to dither around and stand on my head,
pretending that crimson is blue, not red—
just tell me the truth, if you please.

“I’m much too old for being lied to,
so tell me the truth about the rose hue
that colors the sky when the day is through
and adds a bright blush to the trees.

“Some call it red and some call it pink,
    some call it strawberry wine-colored ink;
I call it rubicund, that’s what I think—
now leave me alone, if you please.”
