…my son’s version of his own jack-o-lantern, isn’t it unique? We are calling it “orange” jack-o-lantern, hehehe!

Well, since the first week of this month, his been busy in school preparing for their halloween celebration that was held last Thursday…first, they brought home a single seed of pumpkin and planted it in a plastic container and brought it back to school after the 5 days holiday. Second, they made halloween things such as ghost made of tissue, etc. Third, they wrote a ghost story into a comics style and read it loud in front of the class last Wednesday as what the teacher wrote in his diary.  He even drawn in his drawing book a collage (I actually don’t know how to call it but its like that!) about pumpkins, showing facts about it, life cycle of pumpkins and how to grow it…its cute, will share it next time, probably tomorrow! Lastly, they had this quiet party at school, not in costume but he said his teacher let them wear different improvised costumes and played a lot of games like apples bobbing, etc., he said he had fun! I am happy for him.

Back to the orange jack-o-lantern, he made it after looking different pumpkin pictures online. I love it and its nice how he thought of making it out of the orange fruit. Halloween is not that big here in Phnom Penh, they don’t have that here…also not so many different kinds of pumpkins, only the one you saw above. He actually been bugging me to make one but I am scared to carve it just using a knife because we don’t have carving tools and also I don’t know how! *poor mommy*

Anyway, I just bought small and medium size pumpkins here, put a tea light candle inside and there you go,

Happy Halloween Everyone…
