Few weeks ago, we tried eating at Heawen located at K Village…after kids enjoyed their Fun Arts activity. At first I thought its Heaven but no, I am wrong its Heawen…I don’t know if its meant to be “w” or just wrong and supposedly “v” for Heaven for Burger Devils. Lolz.

Anyway, here are the counter and dining area…

Their menu’s adjusted to Thai foods…spicy and stuff like that although they have classic burger! And here are the burgers we got:

K got Massaman Curry Pork Burger…

3 of us got Pork Classic Burger with fries and drinks!

Lastly, us…happy diners in spite of…well, the burger is not big as we expect, taste is just ok but not something that I will recommend! What makes us happy was that kid enjoyed their burger and fries plus had a good time playing around because yeah, no other customers—its only us there that time!

Although the staff were nice to us…and even gave the burger canister for kids to play at home. And we’ve been to K Village few times after that but we didn’t go back at the Heawen yet, maybe someday, sometime…

Have a great week, everyone!

Last April 6, 2012…I traveled to Phnom Penh, Cambodia from Bangkok, Thailand for the purpose of getting a visa stamp that will be valid for a month while waiting for my Education Visa that’s still on process at the Ministry of Education at that time. Anyway, I flew with Bangkok Airways going back and forth on the same day with few hours difference. And my meals are these yummy Thai foods…

Shrimp Set…

Ready to eat…

My flight meal going to Phnom Penh, I was asked chicken or shrimp. And I chose shrimp, I got pad thai, pork salad, vanilla pudding, orange juice and water! I like the pad thai, just right for my taste. The pork salad even though it is bit spicy, it was mouth-watering. The dessert was lovely, too. All-in-all, I was able to finished my food…I must be hungry then! Hehehe!

While on my flight going back to Bangkok on that same day, I was asked chicken or fish and here’s my choice:

Fish Set…

Yummy…

I had fish fillet with assorted vegetables, papaya salad, strawberry cheesecake and drinks! The fish fillet meal was served with two kinds of rice: brown and jasmine rice, both delicious. The fish fillet was fine with me but I didn’t ate some of the veggies. The papaya was really great, I love it, I thought it will be so spicy but its just mild. The cake was nice, too! As usual, I got orange juice and water for drinks! But they have sotdrinks, assorted juices, tea, coffee, and wines.

It was a good flight back and forth and good meal, that’s why I enjoyed flying with Bangkok Airways! Plus I enjoyed seeing friends even for my few hours of stay and spending an afternoon in Phnom Penh with them.

Yes, the immigration gave me one month tourist visa, which will expire on May 5, 2012 which means I will be traveling again next week to another country to finally get my Education Visa as my Thai Language class started last week. Next stop will be in Vientiane, Laos…for 3 days! Yeay, it will be my first time in the City of Moon!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

After the egg painting last Easter, we snack in some sweet goodies—this is actually no cooking at all—that I prepared…

Easter Sweet Table 2012

I know I can do better than this one but with our schedule before Easter I was not able to prepare well…a week before Easter, K went to do field work and I flew to Phnom Penh to get a visa stamped. So, both tired but I am still happy that we had some and kids enjoyed everything we prepared for them.

Easter Sweet Table 2011

Just sharing our Easter Sweet Table last year, its better…yeah, I know! I thought I can do better than that but with events going around, I can’t.

Anyway, here’s what we got in our sweet table this year…

Bunnies and Egg in a Nest Bread…

Oreo and TimTam…

White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies and Donut from Mister Donut…

Orange Juice…

assorted goodies…

Japanese Custard Cake…

Cookies with Hershey’s Chocolate Bar…

Banana Cupcake…

Lastly, I baked a cake and its a disaster, huh, something wrong but kids and K said its delicious…and that’s enough to make me smile. Its a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting then I just added a nest-shaped meringue with Jelly Beans on topped.

And here we are having a good laugh while eating some snacks…

kids with Daddy…

kids with Mommy…

the two kids having fun with bunny ears and bows!

Easter Bible Verse…

Last but not the least, those beautiful Easter Printables that I used is from Bird’s Party…I got it last year after Easter when she put those set on sale. Its lovely but I wasn’t able to give justice with her work, I will definitely used it again and I hope I can do better! But big thanks to those talented individuals like her because it adds color and life to the party! Also, the Easter Bible Verse Subway Art is from Agape Love Designs and Photography, so big thanks to her for sharing beautiful subway art.

Have a great day, everyone!

Friday the 13th…and the start of Thai New Year, first day of Songkran. So, let me wish you all a Happy Songkran! We will be joining the fun this morning…and we are ready to get wet!

And because its New Year here in Thailand, I will be sharing something that I never made before and first Thai food that I cooked, Beef Massaman Curry and this is the first of many…

Massaman curry is commonly made with beef but there are other variety of it like chicken, duck, etc. The Massaman curry paste is full of flavours and aroma, which usually contains of coconut milk, peanuts, potatoes and lots of different spices. K loves Thai food and Massaman Curry is one of it, which is originally from Southern Thai dish that is Muslim in origin. I served it with hot rice and K just loves it. Oh, CJ likes it and I can eat it too! :)

Bangkok’s known for its street foods…and I am trying it slowly but surely. And I tried having Crispy Shrimp Fritters or Ukoy in Filipino one afternoon.

Crispy shrimp fritters are deep-fried finger food. They are made with small shrimps usually with head and shell on, and are mixed in a batter and fried until crispy. It can be appetizer, a main dish or mid-afternoon snacks! I had it for mid-afternoon snacks…its yummy and I can taste that the seller added some spices and a parsley! Surprisingly, Isabelle and CJ like it too! I only bought 1 to try and it cost 20 Thai Baht. I will buy again next time…

And just a bit of update, K’s back from the field, visited one of the refugee camp between Thailand and Burma border. I am missing Holy Week in Philippines, its not holiday here in Bangkok, CJ still go to school today. And tomorrow, Friday…I will be leaving to Phnom Penh for my visa run because my Non-Immigrant visa here is expiring on Saturday.  Having the trip means I will get 1 month visa upon arrival for being a Filipino! I am still waiting for my ED visa (Education visa after I enrolled to study Thai Language, my papers are still with the Ministry of Education).  I will be back on same day here in Bangkok! I have 4hours waiting time and I am happy that I will be seeing some friends at the airport…makes me happy, really appreciated that you can come to see me and have coffee again. I wish I could stay longer but I can’t, I will definitely miss my kids and K. I just hope they will be just fine tomorrow, I am sure they will.

Have a blessed Maundy Thursday, everyone!

Yes, its been a year since I prepared Simple Easter Celebration at Home and Egg Hunting for the kids…so, if you’ve been here then, you’ve probably saw how I did it. But for new ones, just like to share how few things look like then. And I originally posted this at Easter at Home wherein you can also see links of those talented bloggers whom I got the idea and free printables…that might help you with your preparation!

To start with, here’s the sweet table, our dining table and at the console table…

I also baked this cake, just a simple carrot cake topped with smarties…

And the kids during and after the egg hunt just around our house…

And last but not the least, Mommy and Daddy rabbits plus the little bunnies…

Our Easter morning and lunch then was a great one, then our Easter Day wasn’t over yet, we went to Great Aussie BBQ that was held at Hotel Cambodiana that I posted here…were CJ and Isabelle enjoyed the swim we had, egg hunting, holding real rabbits and chicks, playing around, balloon twisting, face painting and just getting wet…and we all had great time having BBQs.

All this happened last year when we are still living in Phnom Penh, I kept all those printables so I can used it again but sadly, I can’t this time…it is still in container. Its a busy week for us, K’s in the field having some seminars at the Thai-Burma Border then on Friday I will be doing my visa run!

But I am sure Saturday will be fun for kids because we will be going again to Fun Arts in K Village wherein they will do egg painting.

I havn’t done anything yet, might do last minute preparation on Saturday. Still I wish I can do this again…will see! Of course, I will let you know! Promise!

Well, I am wishing all of you a blessed Easter…*smile*

Few weeks ago, we went to one of the nearest mall in our place…so, we went to K Village. It is a Neighborhood Lifestyle Mall which occupies a big area with two buildings that hosts a supermarket, gourmet market, healthy and beauty spas, hair salons, clothe shops and restaurants.

There are really great restaurants in the area but we decided to try CoCo Curry House Ichibanya out of the nine Japanese restaurants around.

Their menu is written in Japanese, Thai and in English..they are serving Japanese curry dishes at affordable prices and what nice is that you can customized your meal by choosing the amount of rice, extra toppings, and most important for me, you can choose up to seven different level of spiciness or you can upgrade it into a set menu.

How to order? First, select the curry that you want…they have lots of choices. Second, select the quantity of rice you like…the standard rice portion is 250 gram, you can choose from 150, 350, 450 up to 550! Third, choose how spicy you want your curry is from mild to crazy hot. Fourth, you can select more topping to add on your curry such as chicken chunks, pork katsu, melted cheese and more…in our case, we didn’t add any! Lastly, you can upgrade your meal into a set menu that can include a drink, mini salad and dessert which we did. All of this at extra cost, of course! Anyway, I find the process really good, its listed also in the menu how to do it…so, expect the food that you really want!

We ordered Kids Curry for CJ and Isabelle and it comes with an orange juice and jelly…

Kids Curry…

Kent and I ordered the same, one of the recommended meal in their menu—Pork Cutlet Curry, we just have different level of spiciness, he got Level 2 with 4 chilis and I got the standard with one chili. Plus we upgrade our order for added mini-salad, drinks and dessert.

Pork Cutlet Curry…

Mini Salad…

Dessert…

Well, we all love what we got…really delicious plus the service was quick and staff ar friendly, most of all budget-friendly. And if you’re true curry lover, you will love the succulent curry dishes that they are serving.

Daddy and CJ…

Mommy and Isabelle…

Lastly, before I forgot…Isabelle also ordered for Watermelon Shake, she’s been telling it as soon as we entered the place, that’s the first order, hehehe! But its not yummy because Isabelle don’t like it…I tasted it and CJ too, which we both agree it taste different. All-in-all its a great lunch!

This is how our unforgettable first curry experience was and yes, from that time…we knew we will be back again soon.

Have a great week, everyone!

Isabelle’s been missing her dollhouse that we gave her last year for her second birthday but because its still in the shipment/container but on the way now to Bangkok, expecting it by May…I decided to get her a small one, a mini dollhouse! Anyway, here’s what she missing…and I can’t blame here!

I can understand her, if I am also at her age I will miss it too! Its pretty and she loves it. My poor little princess, so last week I went to Toys R’us to look for a dollhouse. Since we can’t afford to get same as like that or a big one again, I just bought her a small one…

…and she’s pretty happy with it. Well, I am happy also because it makes her happy plus I get a lot of hugs and kisses and a thank you mommy from her! Lovely big smile, isn’t it?

(FYI: Just incase you’re wondering or new here, we moved from one country to another last year: Phnom Penh to Bangkok, and just have our luggage bag with us, our things stayed in storage for 6months because we only stayed in small nice hotel during those times but just last month, we finally moved to a bigger place! So, our things are coming soon…)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Since we moved here in our new place, I started cooking again and one of those meals that was made (so far) was a Spinach Fetuccine with Mushroom Carbonara Sauce…

…topped with bacon and garnished with sweet basil, served with a slice of garlic bread! K just loves it! This is my third try, just because K loves it!

For the second time I made the meal, it wasn’t served with garlic bread…just like this one below! He likes that I added sweet basil leaves for garnishing and made the bacon crispier…

But the first time I made it was like this…

…I mixed the bacon and mushroom slices with the sauce. What you think? It doesn’t look as yummy as the second and the last one, right? Well, I am learning…so, suggestion and comments are very much appreciated!

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Last March 2, Theodore Seuss Geisel famously known as Dr. Seuss celebrated his birthday…I think he is one of the best-known and best-loved children’s authors of all time. He is known with his The Cat in the Hat and more.

Anyway, CJ and I started looking for things that we can do that day after school, and we decided to cooked Green Eggs and Ham, maybe the most famous inspired dish based from his book. This meal might not be that appealing for adults but for the kids, they will be fascinated maybe, hehehe! My kids had fun eating it…

Just very easy to do, simply scramble eggs, I used two and added milk. Add few drops of green food coloring to the egg mixture. Cook as usual. Then serve with a slice of ham…

“Children want the same things we want. To laugh, to be challenged, to be entertained and delighted.” -Dr. Seuss

And since every 17th of March,  Irish is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. So, I just thought of sharing something green, hehehe, and this one’s just perfect…what you think?! :) Sharing also this Irish Blessings to all of you…

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets always hold a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you,
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.”

“May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields, and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!
