Few weeks ago, we tried eating at Heawen located at K Village…after kids enjoyed their Fun Arts activity. At first I thought its Heaven but no, I am wrong its Heawen…I don’t know if its meant to be “w” or just wrong and supposedly “v” for Heaven for Burger Devils. Lolz.

Anyway, here are the counter and dining area…

Their menu’s adjusted to Thai foods…spicy and stuff like that although they have classic burger! And here are the burgers we got:

K got Massaman Curry Pork Burger…

3 of us got Pork Classic Burger with fries and drinks!

Lastly, us…happy diners in spite of…well, the burger is not big as we expect, taste is just ok but not something that I will recommend! What makes us happy was that kid enjoyed their burger and fries plus had a good time playing around because yeah, no other customers—its only us there that time!

Although the staff were nice to us…and even gave the burger canister for kids to play at home. And we’ve been to K Village few times after that but we didn’t go back at the Heawen yet, maybe someday, sometime…

Have a great week, everyone!

Last February, Bangkok had its Bangkok Sister Cities 2012…and one of the sister cities is Denmark, so we was able to taste some great Danish food and cakes, lucky we don’t need to travel there just to get a taste of it. *smile*

Anyway, lots of booths around Benjasiri Park but here’s K and kids at the Denmark Booth…they are selling organic skincare products from Urtekram, Danish Cakes from Fyn Bakery and Danish food from Admiral Hotel (I forgot the complete name, poor me!)…

I got Smorrebrod or Danish Open Sandwiches, can also be called Canape…it is small pieces of bread that are topped with savory and decoratively garnish with various ingredients. Can be served hot or cold, and it can be simple or more elaborate. Canapes are usually served as an appetizer with cocktails, or as a substantial lunch or a light dinner, or it can be part of smorgasbord buffet.

Above picture is what we got on the weekend that the family went to see around, we ate it at the park. Below picture is what I got Friday afternoon when I was out with Isabelle, I broght it home so CJ can have some too. But we never knew then that there’s an activity going on. Just lucky we went to park and saw it. I never had second thought of buying a set because I tasted it before from ScanDeli Restaurant and its delicious.

And here’s CJ enjoying his hot dog sandwich with remoulade…

All of us enjoyed our open sandwiches…we love it. And I miss having one!

Have a great day, everyone!

Few weeks ago, we went to one of the nearest mall in our place…so, we went to K Village. It is a Neighborhood Lifestyle Mall which occupies a big area with two buildings that hosts a supermarket, gourmet market, healthy and beauty spas, hair salons, clothe shops and restaurants.

There are really great restaurants in the area but we decided to try CoCo Curry House Ichibanya out of the nine Japanese restaurants around.

Their menu is written in Japanese, Thai and in English..they are serving Japanese curry dishes at affordable prices and what nice is that you can customized your meal by choosing the amount of rice, extra toppings, and most important for me, you can choose up to seven different level of spiciness or you can upgrade it into a set menu.

How to order? First, select the curry that you want…they have lots of choices. Second, select the quantity of rice you like…the standard rice portion is 250 gram, you can choose from 150, 350, 450 up to 550! Third, choose how spicy you want your curry is from mild to crazy hot. Fourth, you can select more topping to add on your curry such as chicken chunks, pork katsu, melted cheese and more…in our case, we didn’t add any! Lastly, you can upgrade your meal into a set menu that can include a drink, mini salad and dessert which we did. All of this at extra cost, of course! Anyway, I find the process really good, its listed also in the menu how to do it…so, expect the food that you really want!

We ordered Kids Curry for CJ and Isabelle and it comes with an orange juice and jelly…

Kids Curry…

Kent and I ordered the same, one of the recommended meal in their menu—Pork Cutlet Curry, we just have different level of spiciness, he got Level 2 with 4 chilis and I got the standard with one chili. Plus we upgrade our order for added mini-salad, drinks and dessert.

Pork Cutlet Curry…

Mini Salad…

Dessert…

Well, we all love what we got…really delicious plus the service was quick and staff ar friendly, most of all budget-friendly. And if you’re true curry lover, you will love the succulent curry dishes that they are serving.

Daddy and CJ…

Mommy and Isabelle…

Lastly, before I forgot…Isabelle also ordered for Watermelon Shake, she’s been telling it as soon as we entered the place, that’s the first order, hehehe! But its not yummy because Isabelle don’t like it…I tasted it and CJ too, which we both agree it taste different. All-in-all its a great lunch!

This is how our unforgettable first curry experience was and yes, from that time…we knew we will be back again soon.

Have a great week, everyone!

Weekend is sometimes, home cooked, delivered, take-away or eating-out…and one of our meal last weekend was take-away Tonkatsu from Took Lae Dee which is 5 minutes walk from our place.

All of us got Tonkatsu…and here our meal then:

served with mashed potatoes and salad for K…

served with rice and salad for CJ…

served with rice and salad for me, too…

If you’re wondering what’s for Isabelle, she got Macaroni Chicken Cream Soup that I cooked for her because that’s what she like, macaroni is her current favorite now but penne pasta will always be her first love…

Their tonkatsu’s taste good, crunchy and the sauce is yummy, yes, it comes with a sauce but sorry its not included in the picture…salad is great too specially the dressing, I love it but both rice and mashed potato serving’s so little, maybe just 1/2-cup for both, of course, it doesn’t made us happy especially for mashed potato and rice eater like us!

Well, even though the rice and mashed potato servings is way too small, we will be back eating and ordering from them, they have more choices and we all just love it plus very convenient for us, walking distance and open 24-hours everyday…

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Last weekend, I was craving for some vegetable salad…and since we are just near Foodland, I asks K if he wanted to buy the Chef’s Salad Bowl at Took Lae Dee, a 24-hours restaurant inside Foodland!

Anyway, K said yes…and he even bought 2 orders for all of us to share but 1 will be enough, I think. So, here’s the Chef Salad Bowl: cheese, ham, chicken with fresh salad-greens and your choice of dressing. And this is how they packed it…

So, I just mixed it all together in a bowl and our salad’s ready for only 96 Baht each…its delicious, I like it and kids loves it, too!

Took Lae Dee also serves Cold and Hot Snacks, Asian dishes, American Breakfast, Main Dishes, Desserts, Beverages and they also have some special posted around the dining area which are usually affordable and delicious! Well, all their meals are affordable and delicious, it is our current favorite since we moved here at Sukhumvit Soi 16…but we are missing P. Kitchen at Soi 18.

My cravings satisfied, thanks Mahal…and he also bought a dip, Avocado with Sea Salt and a biscuits for us to try. I will share it next time, its delicious!

Have a great week, everyone!

Another Saturday at IKEA Thailand. Anyway, I have posted before how much I love IKEA Restaurant and you can read it here! So, for the third time we went to IKEA Thailand, we had these following meals for lunch:

Salmon in Chive Sauce with potatoes and beans…

Penne with Tomato Sauce (Vegetarian)

CJ ordered Asian Chicken Rice with Mixed Vegetables and I ordered Black Pepper Pork with Rice and Mixed Vegetable which I posted here already.

Then for dessert we just got Blueberry Cheesecake to share….

And here’s our pushcart then with all the goodies we had for lunch (including Isabelle’s baby milk bottle, hehehe!)…oh, since we got IKEA Temporary Family Card, K’s coffee and the ice tea were free—both refillable!

After eating…we went shopping again, yes, we are having fun and forgot the time…got out of IKEA Store night time. But before going out we had Chicken Hotdog Sandwich from IKEA – Bistro Cafe which I have no photos yet, that will be my next assignment if we will got back soon! Lolz! Anyway, here’s the kids patiently waiting for a taxi at a taxi lane and we just don’t know how we fit inside a taxi…that’s one thing I love about them—flat packaging: easy to stack means easy to pack, very travel-friendly packaging!

Isabelle changed into her pink dress here for she got messy when we were eating at the Bistro – Exit Cafe.

Well, I can’t wait to be back there again (hahaha, dreaming!)…will wait for my permanent IKEA Family Card first because I misplaced the temporary one! FYI: having the family card will saves you a lot…so, better get one for yourself if you will be going!

Until next time…have a great week, everyone!

We don’t have kitchen for our first 6months here in Bangkok and with those days, we’ve been eating in restaurants, food halls or food courts, cafe, pub, everywhere for lunch and dinner with few breakfast (because we got complimentary breakfast from the hotel)! There are times that we just don’t know which place to go. So, after going around the Food Hall area of Emporium Mall, we ended up eating at Fish Cafe again. Yes, again for the second time but I havn’t posted the first time yet! Well, this for now (few pictures—hehehe!)…here’s the dining area with its open kitchen.

Since, we can’t decide what to get again, K decided to just get a Seafood Platter that will be good for all of us…and while waiting for it, strawberry smoothie and coffee came first…

Then the Seafood Platter with goodies: seabass, prawns, calamari, mussels and clams that comes with two Spanish rice…squeezed with lemon and ready to eat! Its huge…we all say wow when they served it, specially the kids!

Yes, we finished it all…we even ordered for extra Spanish rice. We are lucky that it was a good meal and the staffs were nice to us! If have a chance we will be back there for sure, just don’t know when because its bit expensive, well at least for us. Lastly, our kids after a good meal…

Have a great Thursday, everyone!

…in Bangna, Thailand! Yes, we finally went to the first IKEA Store here in Thailand last February 19, 2012 few days before we moved here at Garden Grove. From Soi 20, Sukhumvit Road we took a taxi passing thru expressway…took us more or less 30 minutes to reached our destination, also lucky that the chatty taxi driver knew Ikea. Shopping is not the first thing we did in Ikea, but we ate lunch first…as they say: “Never make decision on an empty stomach.”

Ikea Restaurant’s located at the heart of the store…so after you saw the showroom, you’ll probably passed the restaurant going to the specialty shop and self-serve warehouse to check-out counter. But us, we went straight to the restaurant! Anyway, we fall in line…get our trolley, put on trays and get glasses, cups, Ovaltine drink and water bottle. Chose our dessert and ordered our meals…went to the cashier area and paid it. Then get our drinks at the coffee and softdrinks/ice tea counter!

So, here’s our trolley…full of goodies for the four of us and made us happy eating lunch there!

Then here’s what we got…combination of Swedish and Asian cuisines! *smile*

15 pcs. Swedish Meatballs for Daddy (135 Baht)

Black Pepper Pork with rice and mixed vegetables for CJ (95 Baht)

Asian Chicken Rice with mixed vegetables for Mommy (65 Baht)

Kid’s Chicken Nugget and Fries for Isabelle (65 Baht)

Almond chocolate Cake (65 baht)

Muffin with Refillable Coffee (35 Baht)

We also got Ovaltine Drink (9 Baht), Bottled Water (7 Baht), Refillable Softdrinks and Ice Tea (2 for 25 Baht)…and Isabelle got apple slices (23 Baht).

I am writing the prices of foods here at my blog for the first time because I find it affordable…a complete lovely meal that’s easy on your wallet. What can you asks for?

And here’s the happy kids before starting their meal…

Oh, yes, you have to clean your table and put the dishes and trays back to the station, cool isn’t it? I love that idea…

All-in-all, it was really a good meal and everything taste delicious. And in between we are browsing to their catalog although I got a printed list already of what we will be getting, K still enjoyed looking to it. If we will be back to Ikea, we will for sure going to eat there again and indulge our taste buds with palatable array of food! Well, I did already on my 2nd visit, I tried their pasta with tomato sauce that I will share next time…and we’re planning to go this weekend. Will keep you posted!

After eating we went up to go to the showroom to start looking around…I love it and more of it soon!

Its Monday when we decided to eat at Sunrise Tacos located at Terminal 21…and that day, they have promo for kids called Li’l Amigos: Kids Eat FREE every Monday, lucky us! Every Monday children up t0 7 years old can order one free item from the Children’s Menu, one free drink, and one slice of apple pie or pumpkin pie when they are accompanied by an adult who orders a food of equal or greater value. So, there you go…kids will get free meal! *smile*

They got Cheese Quesadilla with Mexican Rice as side dish, orange juice and an apple pie…

…but I am very sorry I don’t have the picture of drinks and the apple pie! Kids loves the cheese quesadilla and the apple pie…its really yummy, I tried a bite or two or three…lolz!

Anyway, K’s order was a Classic Chicken Quesadilla: seasoned chicken with melted cheese and tomato salsa on a large home-made tortilla folded and grilled, served with a side of sour cream and salsa. And a bottle of San Mig…and he loves his meal, just lovely, he said!

While I ordered for Taco Rice and Cheese: (first time for me to try it…) Mexican rice covered with ground sirloin beef and nacho cheese sauce topped with fresh tomato salsa, lettuce, and cheddar cheese. According to them, this was inspired by the people of Japan and the US Marines. So, its big order…well for me! I like it and taste really nice but too much for me, CJ tried some and K finished it all.

I had it with Mango Frosty Fruit Freeze…in a 12oz. glass and its very refreshing to have!

Lastly, I would like to share these 3 interesting sauces on our table: Jalapeño Green Pepper Sauce, Chipotle Sauce and Red Jalapeño Pepper Sauce…I didn’t tried for I am so sure its all spicy! :)

All-in-all, our meal with them was really good and staff are nice…we love going there, I first posted about Sunrise Tacos here for more of Mexican foods!

We will be eating there again for sure, another Monday would be great…I think! Thanks to them for having a deal like that, our kids was able to eat free and enjoyed the meal.
