Have a great week, everyone!

Few days before Valentines’ Day, K and I were contemplating if we will have  Valentines Dinner offered by the nearest hotel in our area and leaving kids behind in our little room with a hotel staff to look after them…

But we decided not to go for that, for having the kids with us on that day will be more great. So, we just went to an International Buffet offered by Windsor Suites Cafe in Windsor Hotel. Last minute, I made a reservation for the four of us. Windsor is just beside our current place and we passed by to this hotel few times a week to go to the next street where some restaurants are also located, infact some of the staff there knew us already.

Anyway, we had family dinner…not so many people on buffet but many avail the Valentines’ Dinner.

So, we started going around the buffet tables and see international cuisine, sumptuous seafood and B.B.Q. with the full buffet…plus the desserts!

We had bread, soup and salad bar to start with…

Then they have mixed salad to choose from…

Chickpea Salad

Pork Salad

Chicken Salad

Coleslaw

Beetroot Salad

Smoked Ham

They also have, Boat Noodle with assorted Thai Spices, Dried Pork, and Fresh Green Leaves with Authentic Dipping and Condiments…

And yes, this part of the buffet area is the one we had most…

few Japanese delights, mussels, oysters and shrimps

All these plus the main course, bbq’s and desserts complete the dinner that night but I will be sharing more of it next time for now I need to go to bed…its late, really late. Lucky no school tomorrow, AISB’s having 2-days break making it long weekend.

Well, I actually never tasted it all…but we had great time having kids with us, complete the night! And thanks to CJ for taking some pictures! Here’s the happy kids of us…CJ and Isabelle!

Have a great day, everyone!

We love to try different cuisine from time to time and our current location now is surrounded by nice restaurants of all sorts. And one of it is CHESA, its a Swiss Restaurant in a beautiful teak house with white-tone interior accented with red color that creates elegant but relaxed atmosphere that serves authentic Swiss Cuisine. They got Swiss Cuisine on their menu, no Thai food so diners can really enjoy the delicious Swiss food.

Photo: Chesa Swiss Cuisine

Anyway, to start with—we ordered Thurgauer Kase Fondue or Mild Cheese Fondue of Gruyere and Emmental Cheese and Kirsch (traditionally served with one day old bread)…

Then K got Capuns Auf Chesa Art or Swiss Chard Dumplings with bacons, onions, and cheese in a creamy sauce

I got Gebratene Egli Filet Mit Mandeln or Pan-fried Perch Fish Fillet with Roasted Almond and Butter…served with rice!

While kids both got Penne Pasta with Tomato Sauce

And here’s K and CJ enjoying their Cheese Fondue, Isabelle and I is not fan of it…

Cheese Fondue’s very filling, I almost got full even before my order came although they are really fast in serving dishes. And yes, there are lots of choices in their menu, from appetizers to desserts…Chef’s fondue specials, set lunch and they also have special menu, together with a wide selection of wines and drinks! I am sure you will find something you like.

All-in-all it was a great time, simply wonderful place to dine-in, relaxing Switzerland ambiance with great dishes was surely a memorable dining experience for our family….I just hope we can afford it always! Lol. We love the food and staff’s are friendly, its a family-friendly place…even the Owner/Chef (we not sure) are nice too, very accommodating especially for first timer like us! Hope to be back sometime soon…

Have a great day, everyone!

Yes, busy weekend and I missed posting on those days! So, it is really busy and we are seriously looking for a place already. Thanks to Home Connect – Thailand for helping us to do the job easier…Fon’s been great agent plus a service to go around from one apartment to another is a lot of help! We are learning here and we are enjoying. So far, we got two favorites and will be doing the last check again later today, just waiting for Fon’s call. I am ready to do booking for the apartment. I cant wait…

Anyway, for now let me share to you what we had one weekend at Kalpapruek Restaurant in Emporium located at the 1st floor of the mall.

Pork Fried Rice

Steamed Rice and Pork Stew with Sausage

Fried Morning Glory with Oyster Sauce

Soft-shell Crab with Peppers…

Thai Milk Tea

I am sorry for I have already forgotten the exact name of some of these meals but the taste for sure we will never forget, its just perfect for us—simply delicious! This is the second time we ate here, the first time deserves its own post…and from then on, they got us come back again and again!

Have a great week, everyone!

Last December 27, 2011 after an afternoon trip in Tagaytay, our family decided to have dinner in the area. So, I suggested right away that we will eat at Leslie’s Restaurant. I know the food there is delicious, I’ve been there few times during college days and my working days. Luckily, no one disagree. So, Papa drives us to Leslie’s…

And because we are all hungry and I am craving for some Filipino foods already plus the cool weather in Tagaytay, I’ve decided to just get the package for 5-6 people and added Beef Kare-Kare…

So, here what we got…

Crispy Pork Sisig

Filipino Style Chicken Barbeque

Laing con Hipon

Tilapia

Bulalo Special (sorry, they are faster…)

Beef Kare-Kare at Bagoong

Leslie’s Creamy Leche Flan

and

lots of rice and drinks…softdrinks for us and coffee for Daddy!!!

Here we are as a happy diner…Kent, kids and I together with my Papa, brother Gelo and Tita Lynne…unfortunately, Mama cannot come with us because they are busy at work (she works as a cashier in our baranggay), we just g0t her something from Leslie’s.

Gelo and CJ…

Isabelle and CJ

And last but not the least, my pretty charmer! :)

Our dinner was great, we all enjoyed the food even K, he likes  sisig, laing con hipon and bulalo…we like them all! Hehehe! We are lucky that the assigned waiter to us was alert, so that’s pretty good! The time we were there, its full…but lucky to get a table in the main building where nice music is being played. The architectural structure’s mainly built from wood and stone that highlight the modern Filipino theme that the restaurant has together with a blend of Spanish style! And since its night time already, we wasn’t able to see the view of Taal Volcano but we really enjoyed the cool breeze of Tagaytay. We love it…and I hope to be back soon!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

…in a German Restaurant named Old German Beerhouse at Soi 11 last Saturday was a good start for our busy weekend!

American Breakfast: toast with butter, cornflakes, fried egg, bacon, and German fried potatoes with onions and bacon bits; served with coffee and orange juice! It only cost 99 baht…

Three of us ordered the same, so Daddy got 3 coffees…Isabelle just ate cornflakes and some of potatoes! Here’s our happy kids with their thumbs-up sign…

And this how our Saturday started…a yummy breakfast in a cozy and friendly place! Then we headed for a walked around Soi Arab and Nana area! Our next stopped was another pub, Soi 8 Pub, to have some drinks—after long walks! But it was great morning…

Have a great Friday, everyone! :)

Last September 15, Mexico celebrated Cry of Dolores (Grito de Dolores)…which marked the start of the independence war against Spain on the Eve of September 16, 1810 that took place at a church chapel in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato led by a Creole Catholic Priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. Then made September 16, 2011 as the 201st Mexican Independence Day.

(Belated) Happy Independence Day, Mexico…

Having said all these, I am sharing Mexican food from Sunrise Tacos which we tried before!

Sunrise Tacos is one of the Bangkok’s Mexican Restaurant, it is open 24 hours and do 24 hours delivery. Anyway, we tried this restaurant in 2009 in their Siam Paragon Branch and we found one nearby, just between Soi 12 and 14 in Sukhumvit Road, walking distance from where we are staying…

First order was a coffee, of course, that’s Daddys water…

then we ordered:

Grande Nachos Supreme

Grilled ground sirloin beef on top of a large mountain of crisp homemade tortilla chips, topped with melted monterey jack, mozzarella and cheddar cheese, loaded with black bean, pico de gallo, cilantro, chopped onion, jalapenos and sour cream.

Guacamole

Classic Sunrise Grilled Chicken Burrito

Loaded with season grilled chicken, mexican rice, refried pinto beans, shredded lettuce, cheese and Sunrise salsa topped with Ranchero sauce.

Tacos

Three soft flour tacos with shredded beef, salsa, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped onions.

And they have Kid’s Menu that CJ and Isabelle shared, my little girl is not big eater yet. They got Cheese Quesadilla with Mexican Rice, a slice of  Hot Apple Pie and a Fanta Orange.

Our two lovely kids…

We all enjoy the food, big servings and the staff are friendly too…infact a Filipina waitress is the one serving us and she’s nice. Anyway, they have huge selection of Mexican foods…they even have the one Build Your Own Tacos and Burritos, Kiddie Menu, etc.We will be coming back there for sure…

Have a great week, everyone!

Last Saturday, we went to MBK Center…also known as Mahboonkrong, it is a large shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand.

At eight stories high, the center hosts around 2,000 stores and services, including the 4-story Tokyu department store, restaurants and entertainment. MBK is the most visited mall in Bangkok and it is worth a visit for any tourist, it is a well known landmark in Bangkok.

Then after going around the mall, we went to The Fifth Food Avenue, its a food hall located on the fifth floor, its an International Food Hall with 500 seats featuring anything from East to West.

So, here’s what we got: two boys both got RICE…

Seafood Fried Rice for CJ from Seafood by the D’Ocean Terrace…

Chicken Satay with Egg and Rice for K from Thai by Thai Fusion Cuisine…

(K’s faster than me…)

And since I am not hungry yet and been craving for pancakes (I actually miss making one!) I just ordered Blueberry Pancakes that Isabelle and I shared…

Oppsss…yes, sometimes I deserved a solo picture…hehehe!

Food was delicious…service was nice and picture taking is ok! hehehe! Paying system, we (all of us including kids) was given a card when we entered the food hall…we used it in ordering our food then going-out, they checked our card how much we’ve accumulated in using our cards, then we paid the total amount. If we will be in MBK again, I think we will be eating at The Fifth without thinking twice!
