Easter Sweet Table…

After the egg painting last Easter, we snack in some sweet goodies—this is actually no cooking at all—that I prepared…

Easter Sweet Table 2012

I know I can do better than this one but with our schedule before Easter I was not able to prepare well…a week before Easter, K went to do field work and I flew to Phnom Penh to get a visa stamped. So, both tired but I am still happy that we had some and kids enjoyed everything we prepared for them.

Easter Sweet Table 2011

Just sharing our Easter Sweet Table last year, its better…yeah, I know! I thought I can do better than that but with events going around, I can’t.

Anyway, here’s what we got in our sweet table this year…

Bunnies and Egg in a Nest Bread…

Oreo and TimTam…

White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies and Donut from Mister Donut…

Orange Juice…

assorted goodies…

Japanese Custard Cake…

Cookies with Hershey’s Chocolate Bar…

Banana Cupcake…

Lastly, I baked a cake and its a disaster, huh, something wrong but kids and K said its delicious…and that’s enough to make me smile. Its a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting then I just added a nest-shaped meringue with Jelly Beans on topped.

And here we are having a good laugh while eating some snacks…

kids with Daddy…

kids with Mommy…

the two kids having fun with bunny ears and bows!

Easter Bible Verse…

Last but not the least, those beautiful Easter Printables that I used is from Bird’s Party…I got it last year after Easter when she put those set on sale. Its lovely but I wasn’t able to give justice with her work, I will definitely used it again and I hope I can do better! But big thanks to those talented individuals like her because it adds color and life to the party! Also, the Easter Bible Verse Subway Art is from Agape Love Designs and Photography, so big thanks to her for sharing beautiful subway art.

Egg Hunting…

…in the comfort of our home last Easter Sunday was fun! Easter Bunny came and left a lot of chocolate eggs for the kids together with the instructions that Daddy read to the kids! Lol. And to make their searched easier, Easter Bunny let some ribbon trails that they can follow and its a sign that there’s something inside…such a kind Easter Bunny, made my kids life easier. Hehehe!

Anyway, here are the pictures and its a lot, so please bear with me! I hope you will enjoy it…

listening to what Easter Bunny’s instructions…remember, he left a note! :D

Isabelle’s so fast, Daddy’s still reading the message from Easter Bunny…:)

the marker/trail that Easter Bunny put…yellow for Isabelle and green for CJ!

in their bedroom…

closet area…

showing their finds…

counting time…

Hershey’s chocolate bar from us, for working so hard…

…and we also gave them the huge paper egg with lots of goodies inside!

chocolates, jelly beans…

Excited to open their huge paper eggs…:)

Showing the goodies that they got!

With their big happy smile…

Egg hunting bring smiles to them, joy and the excitement of finding one eggs from one place to another. At some point it also show how good Kuya, CJ is by helping Isabelle…and how sweet she is by telling Kuya also that she saw the green ribbon at some place. Nice to know that they are helping each other this early. I just hope that they can bring that good deeds as they grow older. Then after the egg hunting…Daddy let them watched a movie about Easter that he downloaded earlier!

After the movie, we all enjoyed the simple “sweet table” that I prepared, which I will sharing on my next post! Tons of pictures here already…hehehe!

How we prepared it? Well, its just the morning of Easter when they are having a bubble bath while they are busy splashing water and playing with the bubbles…K and I were busy putting all the ribbons and chocolate eggs around the house! And this is the second time we are doing it for the kids! We did it last year in Phnom Penh, Cambodia!

In the end, they both love it…Isabelle even asks for more, hehehe, we just told her that those are the only eggs Easter Bunny left. But we told her that next year, Easter Bunny will come again and hide some chocolate eggs or chicken eggs around (that’s what we used last year) our house! And she’s so happy with that, she’s jumping for joy!

Chocolates, Paper Eggs and Rabbit Toys…

…these three were around our house last Easter, April 8, 2012 and kids enjoyed having them around!

We got the rabbits on our first trip to Ikea…the nest on the other trips and the paper eggs also from Ikea on my recent trip to the store!

I got these Kinder friends chocolate when I did my visa run to Cambodia last April 6, got it at Suvarnabhumi Airport…I just thought it will be perfect to be put inside the paper eggs!

Then I got these chocolate eggs at Ikea, got it same time I got those huge paper eggs…we used these chocolate eggs for egg hunting within our house!

So, I put those Kinder friends chocolates inside the huge paper eggs. I got those nest basket at Japanese Store here in Bangkok, a day before Easter! We gave it to them after the egg hunt, its a huge prize from Mommy and Daddy…

yellow and green (I used the orange for the centerpiece decoration.)

…and believe me or not, those chocolates in each paper eggs were equally distributed, I count it while eating some during the preparation, hehehe.

The centerpiece on our center table look like these but with Isabelle’s talent, sometimes its re-arranged…the orange paper egg, pinwheels, Isabelle’s plant, and the eggs in the pot they got from Fun Arts a day before Easter.

Lastly but not the least, I got these crepe paper from a bookstore…yellow, orange and green, my favorite Easter color. I put in on the tv area, and it serves as a photo wall…

…and, oh, I got that Easter Subway Art from eighteen25 (thanks so much, dear!) while the two patterned paper are  included in the Easter Printable Package I bought a year ago from Bird’s Party.

Anyway, I love preparing something for the kids that they can remember when they get big, this year might not be as prepared as last Easter 2011 but I still tried this year. K’s at the field on week before Easter then I got busy with my visa run to Cambodia, Friday before Easter. So, I got some stuff needed last minute, printed all the printables a day before and things like that! Also, the pieces I got are all affordable and re-usable, just like the basket…can be a bread basket or snacks basket, infact I already used it as that when we got visitors last Friday, just put paper doily to look more nice! Affordable because we got those rabbits at 50% off, I got the nest for 10 baht, nest basket cost 60 baht, paper eggs and egg chocolates come together and you’ll be saving some, and the rest will not cost much! How about you, do you love to prepare something like this? Let me know…

So, these are the stuff around our house last Easter…will be sharing next the kids egg hunt and they had so much fun! Then our Easter sweet table and egg painting at home!

Fun Arts 01: The Frog Prince

We usually go out on weekends and for the first time, we went to K Village last March 24 because I found online that they are giving free Fun Arts for the Kids every Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm, you can come between those time at the 1st Building, 1st floor…just in front of the Gourmet Market! So, this is a good place for us to go every Saturday because I am sure kids will be happy there and will keep them busy plus it is just near our place.

art area is under that tree…

Anyway, the theme that Saturday is about “The Frog Prince.” So, CJ and Isabelle painted a stone frog and made their own Prince and Princess Crown…

getting ready…

art table…

With the D.I.Y. Princess and Prince Crown…each kids were given a white crown-shaped cardboard and there’s a lot of different stones, buttons and beads ready to put on your  crown…its up to your choice!

CJ’s making his D.I.Y. Prince Crown…

While with your own Stone Frog…kids were given 2 piece of stone (Isabelle got 3 because of her charms, hehehe) then you will put eyes on it and paint it to your own style, then you will glued it to the paper cut like a leaf then glued again to the open sandwich box and they will asks you to paint the box or leave it blank then you can add some  butterfly flower…and its done!

Painting her own style Frog Stone…

And here’s my two artist, showing their works… crown and the stone frog!

And the two kiddos together…our prince and princess with their crowns on!

Its their first time to go there at Fun Arts and we are now on our 3rd week (will be going again this Saturday), they always enjoy our trip to K Village because its not just Fun Arts at all, you can also go shopping and just relax, everyone can enjoy the fun…and yes, lots of restaurants too and we’re trying one at a time…or just depends to which one we like! :) On this week, we ate at Coco Curry House Ichibanya which I posted here already. Kids were really happy and we are happy also to see them both enjoying our Saturday afternoon and the way they are loving arts!

Last Easter…

Yes, its been a year since I prepared Simple Easter Celebration at Home and Egg Hunting for the kids…so, if you’ve been here then, you’ve probably saw how I did it. But for new ones, just like to share how few things look like then. And I originally posted this at Easter at Home wherein you can also see links of those talented bloggers whom I got the idea and free printables…that might help you with your preparation!

To start with, here’s the sweet table, our dining table and at the console table…

I also baked this cake, just a simple carrot cake topped with smarties…

And the kids during and after the egg hunt just around our house…

And last but not the least, Mommy and Daddy rabbits plus the little bunnies…

Our Easter morning and lunch then was a great one, then our Easter Day wasn’t over yet, we went to Great Aussie BBQ that was held at Hotel Cambodiana that I posted here…were CJ and Isabelle enjoyed the swim we had, egg hunting, holding real rabbits and chicks, playing around, balloon twisting, face painting and just getting wet…and we all had great time having BBQs.

All this happened last year when we are still living in Phnom Penh, I kept all those printables so I can used it again but sadly, I can’t this time…it is still in container. Its a busy week for us, K’s in the field having some seminars at the Thai-Burma Border then on Friday I will be doing my visa run!

But I am sure Saturday will be fun for kids because we will be going again to Fun Arts in K Village wherein they will do egg painting.

I havn’t done anything yet, might do last minute preparation on Saturday. Still I wish I can do this again…will see! Of course, I will let you know! Promise!

Well, I am wishing all of you a blessed Easter…*smile*

Swimming Time…

Summer arrived few weeks back here in Bangkok, might be still winter or spring already in other parts of the world but here its getting hotter each day! Having said that, being in a room with air-con makes one life nicer and we are lucky to have it in our new place. But yes, we are expecting high electricity consumption in connection with that. Huh! And one more thing that’s nice in our new place is that the common swimming pool…all residents can swim if they want but on our three weeks here, I’ve seen only few people in there! Anyway, last weekend, our family was able to find time to swim and we had great time!

View of the swimming pool area from our balcony…just lovely to see it each day! My kids loves to swim, so I am sure they will really enjoy this one!

So, here we are enjoying the pool by ourselves, hehehe….

And oh, they got some nice sun lounger complete with pad and a set of parasol to keep everyone comfortable…I also love this one, the gazebo area is just perfect for some small parties and get together with friends someday!

Hmm…I am sure we will be back swimming here again soon or maybe this coming weekend, afterall we just need to go down the lift. Well, I am looking forward for that really because its just great to do things together as a family and we all had a great time!

Quick Meal at Sunrise Tacos…

Its Monday when we decided to eat at Sunrise Tacos located at Terminal 21…and that day, they have promo for kids called Li’l Amigos: Kids Eat FREE every Monday, lucky us! Every Monday children up t0 7 years old can order one free item from the Children’s Menu, one free drink, and one slice of apple pie or pumpkin pie when they are accompanied by an adult who orders a food of equal or greater value. So, there you go…kids will get free meal! *smile*

They got Cheese Quesadilla with Mexican Rice as side dish, orange juice and an apple pie…

…but I am very sorry I don’t have the picture of drinks and the apple pie! Kids loves the cheese quesadilla and the apple pie…its really yummy, I tried a bite or two or three…lolz!

Anyway, K’s order was a Classic Chicken Quesadilla: seasoned chicken with melted cheese and tomato salsa on a large home-made tortilla folded and grilled, served with a side of sour cream and salsa. And a bottle of San Mig…and he loves his meal, just lovely, he said!

While I ordered for Taco Rice and Cheese: (first time for me to try it…) Mexican rice covered with ground sirloin beef and nacho cheese sauce topped with fresh tomato salsa, lettuce, and cheddar cheese. According to them, this was inspired by the people of Japan and the US Marines. So, its big order…well for me! I like it and taste really nice but too much for me, CJ tried some and K finished it all.

I had it with Mango Frosty Fruit Freeze…in a 12oz. glass and its very refreshing to have!

Lastly, I would like to share these 3 interesting sauces on our table: Jalapeño Green Pepper Sauce, Chipotle Sauce and Red Jalapeño Pepper Sauce…I didn’t tried for I am so sure its all spicy! :)

All-in-all, our meal with them was really good and staff are nice…we love going there, I first posted about Sunrise Tacos here for more of Mexican foods!

We will be eating there again for sure, another Monday would be great…I think! Thanks to them for having a deal like that, our kids was able to eat free and enjoyed the meal.

Chesa – Swiss Cuisine

We love to try different cuisine from time to time and our current location now is surrounded by nice restaurants of all sorts. And one of it is CHESA, its a Swiss Restaurant in a beautiful teak house with white-tone interior accented with red color that creates elegant but relaxed atmosphere that serves authentic Swiss Cuisine. They got Swiss Cuisine on their menu, no Thai food so diners can really enjoy the delicious Swiss food.

Photo: Chesa Swiss Cuisine

Anyway, to start with—we ordered Thurgauer Kase Fondue or Mild Cheese Fondue of Gruyere and Emmental Cheese and Kirsch (traditionally served with one day old bread)…

Then K got Capuns Auf Chesa Art or Swiss Chard Dumplings with bacons, onions, and cheese in a creamy sauce

I got Gebratene Egli Filet Mit Mandeln or Pan-fried Perch Fish Fillet with Roasted Almond and Butter…served with rice!

While kids both got Penne Pasta with Tomato Sauce

And here’s K and CJ enjoying their Cheese Fondue, Isabelle and I is not fan of it…

Cheese Fondue’s very filling, I almost got full even before my order came although they are really fast in serving dishes. And yes, there are lots of choices in their menu, from appetizers to desserts…Chef’s fondue specials, set lunch and they also have special menu, together with a wide selection of wines and drinks! I am sure you will find something you like.

All-in-all it was a great time, simply wonderful place to dine-in, relaxing Switzerland ambiance with great dishes was surely a memorable dining experience for our family….I just hope we can afford it always! Lol. We love the food and staff’s are friendly, its a family-friendly place…even the Owner/Chef (we not sure) are nice too, very accommodating especially for first timer like us! Hope to be back sometime soon…
