…one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site here in Cambodia, it is in Siem Reap and went there last January 2009 with K!

And for you to visit the temple around Angkor Archaelogical Park…you have to get a pass that can be purchased at the main entrance on the road to Angkor Wat. We got one-day ticket that cost US$20.00…on our first day we went to Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm Temple, Phnom Bakheng for sunset, south Gate of Angkor Thom, Preah Khan, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King and some other minor ruin that we passed-by long the way! I will be posting those separately but for now, here’s the pass…

But for third day, we went to ANGKOR WAT…

Angkor Wat is a massive 3-tiered pyramid crowned by 5 lotus-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level. It is surrounded by a moat and and an exterior wall measuring 1300 meters by 1500 meters, the temple itself is 1 km. square and consists of three levels surmounted by a central tower. The walls of the temple are covered inside and out with bas-reliefs and carvings. (Source: Siem Reap Angkor Visitors Guide)

When I first saw, its awesome…I can’t believe that this was constructed early to mid 12th century. It is really artistically, visually and architecturally breathtaking! Love to go back there and explore the place more…

I hope I can share more pictures but my portable hard drive where I am saving all our pictures were corrupted and unreadable for the second time…but luckily it is being repair by a dear friend here, he was able to repaired it the first time. Now, 8500 photos recovered plus other extension files but he said still have 28 hours to complete. Thanks so much Paul for being such a genius in I.T., without you I will be losing those pictures! And promise to myself, I will be saving it on CD when returned so at least I have back-up…
