Three weeks before we moved here, Daddy went to Bangkok to do stuff and check things.  And he brought back these three books that will help us in moving to different country…from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Bangkok, Thailand.

Bangkok Guide by Australian-New Zealand Women’s Group, 18th Edition…an essential guide to living in Bangkok. It comes with a little book of Telephone Directory and Survival Thai Guide, and a Essential Map for the Essential Guide to Living in Bangkok. I find this book really nice to have, I’ve been reading it every now and then, it really helps!

Bangkok Street Atlas…1st Edition by Periplus. First Bangkok street atlas produced to exacting world class cartographic standards. Highly detailed city map present information in a logical and clear way. I am not a map reader, but i find this one user-friendly and easy-to-use.

And last but not the least, Vera and Victor Discover Thailand by Erik and Julia Wirdheim. Daddy got this book for Isabelle and CJ, it is the first book in a series about two children traveling around the world. They’ve added facts to a fictitious story and working close-to-reality illustrations, with aim is to give insight into a foreign country. Goal is to invite parents and children to discuss similarities and differences between other countries and cultures. I love it, we read it to the kids almost every night before we moved here and read it here in Bangkok every now and then, it served as a preparation for my kids before and after moving to Thailand.

These three books are really nice to have…we moved here so fast, two weeks after Dad’s trip to Bangkok, we are now here..and we arrived here last August 12, 2011…days moving so fast, we will be here for a month soon! I still need to learn a lot…

Today’s another week…another new day to learn new things and explore Bangkok!

Linking with Orange Tuesdays hosted by Mommy Sheng of  Shengkay’s Randomness Journal…

Have a great week, everyone!

Something for everyone :) I’m envious! I love Bangkok and I’m always thinking how nice if I got a chance to live there for a while.

I have the Atlas and the Bangkok Guide books which are very helpful. I don’t have the small book. Must be an interesting book but I wonder if we still need to buy that for our children after living here for years! :)

Hope you have a wonderful week!

  3. I always feel better when I have some books to read about a new place. And of course, the orange covers would make me happy too!
